Meet the Band

KEN MONTIGNY (guitar, vocals)

A long-time, popular musician and song stylist in SouthCoast Mass., Ken has worked as a solo artist as well as in well-known bands like Borderline, Voyage, Wiseguys and MGB. With spot-on performances of James Taylor’s smooth vocals and virtuoso guitar playing, Ken brings a uniquely coastal New England flavor to his interpretations of Taylor’s classic songs.

DONN LEGGE (guitar)

Donn is a music educator at Whitman-Hanson (Mass.) Regional High School. A busy studio guitarist with a master’s degree in jazz guitar, Donn also performs regularly with local bands Blues Train and the SouthCoast Jazz Orchestra. In October Road, Donn expertly recreates Michael Landau’s work across the James Taylor catalog.

DAVE PERRY (drums, percussion)

Known for precise timing and facility in many genres, Dave has been drumming professionally for 35+ years.  He studied under well-known teacher Al Mello, and he’s played with area bands like Fury, Action, Gratitude, Silversmith, Chalice, and the Paul Lévesque Band.  Dave counts Jeff Porcaro, Steve Smith and Dave Weckl as  inspirations.

CHRIS GONSALVES (bass)

Chris has been a working musician since age 14 in New England bands like Royalty, Wayback Machine, Wiseguys and MGB. He’s also done several stints with touring bands in Florida including Little Eddie and the Fat Fingers and The Jack Stevens Band. A devotee of JT’s longtime bassists Jimmy “Flim” Johnson and Leland Sklar, Chris holds a specialist certificate in bass guitar from Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Mark started his professional music career while at Chatham High School, and returned to his musical roots on Cape Cod after a twenty-six year break! Performing in Indiana during his college years, Mark later performed around metro Boston before moving to New York City . With formats ranging from singles to 22-piece big bands, Mark’s repertoire spans jazz, funk, blues, the Great American Songbook, theater and popular music.

BRITTNIE RAPOZA (backing vocals)

A founding member of October Road, Brit lends perfect harmonies to the many complex arrangements in the James Taylor songbook. Her ability to capture and recreate the stylings of JT’s well-known vocal accompanists Kate Markowitz and Andrea Zonn shines through in every song.
